A Heart Apart
Feel that little thump, Against your breastbone? There it is again, Like a pulsing little phone. If you could answer, what would you say. Were any of my desires Unmet today? Valentines day In the middle of winter It is a great time to listen. Let your heart mentor. Are you afraid to pause And reflect on its sadness Are you curious to know How it survives all this madness. Let it whisper those things It wants you to hear. Let it lighten its load In this cold time of year. It will thank you for smiling It will mourn that lost hope It will wish for tomorrow It will find ways to cope It is all there if you listen Every delight and pain It is renewing your life With each pulse to your brain I hope you find something Worth loving today Let your heart dream Let love in to stay.
