But What Was It
BUT WHAT WAS "IT?" (ask my constant ally Miss Jane) I cannot believe with Betsy and Joey she would really take it But it mattered not since she was about to grip my heart and break it During all the hub-bub, tumult and chaos she stopped and said “Go get it” And even if it wanted to stay she would not let it She knew that what she was taking was taking the she I had when she was not around But I’ve heard tell that even sailors sometimes cry when their ship runs aground And if they wanted to look as if they were crying no one had fake it But I wouldn’t give a s**t because she remembered to take it Now she can treat it to an opera or a day by the deep blue sea and it's sad to see how many thing they can do without me How can a woman take a dream, a heart, desire with fidelity and so forsake it? S**t, I still can’t believe she was cruel enough to take it © 2011.……Phreepoetree
