The Foothold Slips
No one ever said, I knew the way. The spinning thoughts in your head, threw me away. Congratulations my dear, despair has been lost. We've done away with fear, oh but to what cost? I can't seem to believe, what happened was true. Were we so naive, to let sorrow take you? Deep within my thought, I bleed as you cry. The fires I fought, help the world die. Now I prepare, to make death unrelenting. Why do you no longer care, as my loves tormenting? One day lovers shall dream, not of the undying pain, but of the silent scream, of those who refrain. Before I die, I've seen and angel fall. I shall not shy, away from Death's call. I'll not continue to cry, for I will have seen it all. Dying lights, put out the faltering flames. These last few nights, have no one to blame. Please keep me hidden, from the sight of a loved one. Through Hell I've ridden, hearing as Death was sung. All the choices I've made, it was never enough. The fire never should fade, no matter how tough. Dying is your latest fashion, for we've never come back. In the heat of passion, shall your wits attack? I kissed your lips, you broke the truce. The foothold slips, down comes the noose. The end comes near, I can hear the tune. You succumb to fear, for you know the end is soon. Demons within can't be held longer, as they release their devious howl. Just be a little stronger, and we'll fight it with a growl. A withered past, and a bleeding future. Time moves so fast, as I finally lose her. You stole my heart, yet I had it first. If we fall apart, may your scorned heart burst.
