Hurricane Katrina
It's been six years since Hurricane Katrina destroyed the city of New Orleans, LA. That devastating storm had left all of the city's citizens homeless and hungry. All of the city streets have been flooded, their homes and businesses/establishments were destroyed, and all of the victims of Hurricane Katrina are still shaken, even to this day. I was 17 years old when that tragic event occurred. At that time, the victims of Hurricane Katrina had to evacuate their beloved city, thus coming to the State of Texas for food, shelter, and a good education. It seems to me that the U.S. Government was trying their best to help the then-Louisiana Governor and then-President George W. Bush try to rebuild the city of New Orleans. But despite Hurricane Katrina destroying the entire city and towns in Mississippi and Louisiana 6 years ago, back in August 2005, all of Louisiana and Mississippi citizens are still thriving, even to this day. Hurricane Katrina will be a tragic event the world will never forget.
