Honest Dan’s Used Cars By Elton Camp Should you really buy a used car from this man? He’s dressed well and smiles, that Honest Dan Cars on his lot are clean, low-mileage, and neat And he’ll assure you that his deal can’t be beat From his odometers, Dan makes miles disappear So that the total looks nice and low for the year This adds much value to the one who does sell, For the buyer it’s a mechanical and financial hell Some of his cars insurance companies totaled out That they belong in the junk yard there’s no doubt But they were reconstructed, put onto the road again But they’ll never be a vehicle on which to depend Other are on his lot because the state’s Lemon Law When they were new—the worst cars you ever saw The manufacturers were required to refund the money But to look at them, you would think you see a honey Some of his cars were severely damaged in a flood But were cleaned of stains, odor, mildew and mud What they went through you are unlikely to detect But when problems return, too late you’ll suspect Because they’re stolen, some a legitimate title lack If the owner finds it, then he can legally take it back So anytime you buy a used car, take the greatest care And remember the old saying, “Let the buyer beware.”
