Footprints of the Past
Tracing footprints of the past. Where is it I belong? Am I the offspring of a king? Was his queen adorned in fine rings? Thumbing through the pages of life. Words ring out like a puzzle in my mind. Stories that have morphed into the tallest tales. Did great-grandpa really catch a fifty ton whale? Royalty that fell from the highest throne. Scandalous marriages that were perceived wrong. Cowboys fighting Indians in the old west. Immigrants traveling on a long adventurous quest. The black and white photo cries out. I wonder what they were really thinking? No one smiled, they were reserved as can be. While the photographer flashed a memory. Searching through the clues of life. I end up with another secret to cherish. Wondering why the world is so small. Aren’t we all related somehow, after all?
