Sins of a Father
Father, why do you not acknowledge me? Do I disappoint you as a son? I thought you heart was as vast as the sea. Yet when I look for it, its gone. I know in my heart you love your child. Anyone could see that in your face. But you chose a life of running wild. Though I can’t scold you; it’s not my place. Drugs are what console you But what is here to comfort me With life it’s not easy to begin anew But your consequences come to you easily. Only you could make me a better man I have used what little lessons I’ve got. My mother raised me the best she can Though as a man I still have to learn a lot. You will always know I love you Otherwise with these attempts why would I even bother? These words that I speak of you are so true You have committed the sins of a father.
