Ava's Big Move
Today we played "Shop" and the unpacking of your room began... (I was the shop keeper) You brought me a tambourine. - I told you it was a worm holder. You shake it with the worms inside and it makes them wiggle and jiggle. You giggled and bought it with air money. You brought me a pair of mittens. - I told you they were ear pockets - for warming the ears. You giggled and purchased them as well. You brought me a shelf with two knobs for hanging - I told you it was a race car, the knobs were the stick shifts. You needed that immediately and paid promptly. You brought me your old pink flip flops. - I told you they were "fantastic flaperdoos" - and demonstrated their music making capabilities by flapping them together. You altogether "got it" and paid a pound of air money. You brought me 4 sheets of plain white paper. - I told you it was a "fine telescope indeed" and rolled them up to peer at you with one big eye. You knew a necessity when you saw one, and loaded my hands with invisible change. Then, you, very seriously I might add, brought me a lone mitten. I commented that you had already purchased two "ear pockets". Why did you need a third one? You, straight-faced, said: "Because I have 3 ears", as you pointed to your nose. I nodded in complete understanding and accepted your payment. The afternoon went by quick with sales, and somehow, in all of our fun, your room unpacked itself...
