As I Lay At the Streets...
I closed my eyes and slipped into the world. Where the valley was green and the sun rays gold. As I walked the grass my feet felt cold; My heart felt a warmth unseen, untold. I walked to the stream and wondered why, The real world was uglier, as i watched the birds fly. Why a murderer would kill, why a lover betray? Why a soldier joined battles, but his family would stay? Why a man could discriminate black and white? Why the world could never overcome the selfish-tide? Why could I find pleasure in only my dream place? Why contentment touched, only the ocean's surface? I turned exhausted and began to gasp for air, I could feel the darkness come, which was never there. I knew from within that this world would be gone; When I am back awake, my clothes will still be torn...
