Blessing In Disguise
When I was young and full of dreams Of goals and great success My pathway laid, my visions set I was nervous nonetheless. I had an inner confidence Of the things I wished to do And so I tried as best I could To make my Dreams come true. My best laid plans got in the way And I somehow failed to see That my dream was just a dream Cause life had other plans for me. Yes I went down a different road As my circumstances changed My boyhood dreams were now all gone Things were rearranged. With Good Advice, which I never got My plan may have succeeded But nothing ever happened Cause I didn’t get what I needed. But things happen for a reason It was a blessing in disguise I enlisted in the Air Force Which turned out was very wise. It really was a great career The best decision of my life Saw a lot of different places And met my lovely wife. I’m Retired now and life’s been grand Things are really good I wouldn’t change a single thing Not even if I could.
