Jaded
When you look back on yesterday, Does it make you long again to feel that way. Do you remember being young and tempting feelings and fate? Do you remember the longing, the urge, and the wait? Soon enough you turn around and find it gone. And all the adventure has moved on. When did it all start passing so fast? When did the tomorrows turn into the past? When was it that my dreams began fade? And what of all the plans I had made? When did I loose the fire that burned so bright? Is it merely smoldering ashes left to die in the night? There once was a passion for life that flowed in me. A light shinning, that glowed when free. But I can still remember, so vivid and clear. I could almost reach out and touch it, it seems so near. Did I lose it or simply come to face reality, In a world where aspirations fall by the wayside as fatalities? But I was young then, and isnt ignorance bliss. Because now I know what I sacrificed for this. I dont know where the dreamer in me faded. And I dont know when I became so jaded. Sarah Comstock 1/29/1999
