The Garden
In the secret garden Carried by the breeze Under bough and branch Drifted through the trees Hunger builds within Fruit lies within sight Alas, I cannot taste For it is not ripe “Wait a day my son Upon that day, again I will feed your heart Never shall you fend A father will provide Even without love Am I not much greater To one called my beloved? Shaken in its time I will give to you Each desire of your heart I will follow through Cherish all the waiting Wine will grow with age Here, within your grasp The long awaited wage Your work is good to me I give to you my best Long have you waited You will be given rest This fruit is sweet indeed I know that it would be I planted every one That you would feast with me Do not eat alone I set a table and wait I will always wait Hoping you are late I will not start alone My son will come in time When you have finally come My sweetest bells will chime In my garden always Dancing in my eyes Do not leave this place Set to me, your face”
