Remember the Windchymes (For the Living Child)
At every first birthday party I’ll allow you to blow out your own candles but let me blow a heart shaped balloon and bubbles of love just for you In cold foggy mists on days of thunder Let me heat you with the sight of my breath Let me smoke you with warmth from my fire that I’ve reserved from days of stress After occasions of major proportion Let me sigh a relief of exhaustion Readily and heavily, I’ll carry your burdens When days are dark, hear my voice I’ll smokeline the air for your offspring and leave them with stormclouds of possibility When my time is done, let them feel my whispers. Hear my laughter in the howling wind and dance as I sing at the top of my lungs I’ll spread screaming pollen spores On my rollercoaster back they’ll soar As I bring flowers toward the living Shouting for the sake of remembrance Take skyward the dust from my bones But let my soul’s legacy linger forever For I’ve given much more then my all Please, let my last breath be never
