Seeing You That First Time.
As I look back tonight; I never thought I’d meet anyone where I’d say I love you, Yet under this same moonlight, I remember when you first came into my view. With that perfect smile and sweet voice; you approached me maybe only to say hello. Then I stumbled over my words; how they were putting on a show. I remember the feeling I had inside as we talked; then that when you had to leave. Right then I thought I was breaking, oh how I can where my heart on my sleeve. Yet look at us here together, as time has slowly crept by. All the feelings still fresh, and held deep inside. We have learned forgiveness in confrontation, and our love has always held true. Together we dealt with our inner demons; each day our love becoming renewed. My heart feels broken for the times I’ve hurt you, and those moments where you cried. Yet it’s over shadowed by how we support each other and stand by one another’s side. I would shoulder the world for you; so that you would never again feel pain. I would shelter your body with my own to protect you from passing rain. These were a few words for you to read; before I at last let you rest and close your eyes. My love will be yours forever as I lay here with you, as I remember seeing you that first time.
