We Were Porcelain
Tongue and cheek, Stand still, I fear that I'm slipping into the same bad habits. But it seems like that is how it ought to be. We are all mad hatters chasing white rabbits. You can't see the truth, You would not get it even if it were right in front of you, Holding a sign, Screaming your name, Throughout the sound, Revelation echoes through. The evil stakes a claim, I'd say it's true. The bad sticks with less effort than the good, The good that is fighting, Struggle beneath the skin, Alas, This war will pull you in. Who would have known? I would have never guessed, The words hang in the balance, These lies taint your lips. Never say that I didn't try, When all of my life was hollow, And inside, There was no comfort. Killing time hurts just as much, And so it goes, We are still guilty for letting go. We have fallen, And we were once something. We were porcelain, Once upon a time. You were mine, And you kept me in mind.
