A Broken Heart
A lovely lass stands alone, High atop a cliff Over looking the sea below. The fine mist rising, ever rising, Until she can taste the salty air. . . Until it seems to penetrate her very soul. There is a quiet beauty in the morning light That can not be described; Only felt. . . only if alone. Alone to contemplate the magical music Of the pounding surf; The song of seagulls as dawn's light Comes spilling through the clouds. Outstretched branches of near-by trees Seem to convey their love. Pretty little wild flowers Slowly open their petals When kissed by the morning sun. Dew drops covering like Dancing diamonds in the wind. The colors permeate her body, Deep within. With faith renewed She finds a gentle peace, A healing that takes place To mend a broken heart. She begins to feel lighter than the mist, Freer than the birds in flight; Softer than the petals enfolded by The boundless love of nature. . . So freely given, so freely taken. Problems are washed away by The streaming sunlight; The morning air as it Gently caresses her hair. The energy of mother earth Is there taking care. . . Her loneliness disappears into a warm Loving feeling of universal belonging.
