Grit
I looked upon the color white In dreams that whisper in the night And saw in waves of red and blue Photonic frequencies of hue The whirling energies that spin The properties of matter And as I stood upon the void, of wonder lost and dreams devoid, then time was king and light was queen and darkness was a ballroom Where photons shattered danced and spun where games were lost and wars were won in energies of umpteen gees that recreated matter and rules were only paths that grew in dreams of whispered chaos Then time stood still in purple hue and I was left in Laos The void’s still there for those who care to only pull the blinders But white light turns and darkness burns and forwards is behind us So squint y’r eyes and live y’ lies and weave a plaid t’ warm yer Or smoke your pot and live your lot in sunny California But in the end when you can’t bend Don’t say I didn’t warn yer Reality is hard to see with eyes that dream of what could be. they only seem to really see The sky the clouds the sand the sea the lump of grit that could be me In oh so empty timeless space contemplating nothing
