Turn the Page My Friend.
Don’t close the book, just go ahead and turn another page. My life has been changing with each new chapter of my days. I’ve been told I’ve been out there and alone for far too long. I guess I didn’t see it; at times I go about these things all wrong. The dust of my years is on my skin, and though I’m not that old. It’s hard not knowing how the book will end, having to wait till life unfolds. The moon descends so low, I see the first stars of the night. I know what I’ve done wrong; just have to figure out how to make them right. My mind it grows tired and my hands are sometimes weak. My eyes are heavy and I can’t even form the words in which to speak. Another page written, and now I can finally lay my body down. With a blank sheet for tomorrow, I wonder how it will fill out. Out here wandering, oh the things that I have seen. With each new experience changing me from what I use to be. Some would say it’s good to change, and yet others may not like who I am. I still walk with my head held high for I’ve always been a proud man. It’s difficult for me to explain sometimes the things I feel inside. Not wanting to say the wrong thing and walk away without that pride. Some say wisdom comes with age, and how we choose our path. I also like to think it’s the crosses we bare, and how we carry them on our back. A blank sheet for tomorrow nears, is there a smile upon my face. Don’t fear what you will learn my friend, go ahead and turn the page.
