In a pirate ship with adventures galore, Burried treasure and so much more. There’s a pirate with a patch on his eye, Climbing to the crows nest in the sky. He’d have a peg leg, yes he would, On the good leg is where he stood. Ever so much larger than me, He would sit me down upon his knee. Regaling with stories of the loot, Whilst slowly tap-tap-tapping his boot. To the sounds of music aboard the ship. Another drink of grog he’d sip. The ship we’re on is wooden and big. The men around us doing are doing a jig. He’d laugh and call me sonny. I’d laugh too and think it funny. The waves beneath us crash and roar And up into the sky we soar Bobbing up and down upon them Over the side, I can see the bottom As it gets dark, it gets colder and colder, For me and the parrot upon my shoulder. And I may get seasick and real tired, too, So perhaps a pirate’s not the best thing to do. Maybe I should be astronaut, yes! I think I’d be good, I think I’d be best! I could climb to the top of the rocket. I would get inside and never get off it. We’d shoot up into the sky. I’d look out and wave goodbye, At all the people down below. I would feel the luckiest little fellow. First stop, the moon, you see, For I need to make sure it’s not made of cheese. No, not cheese, just rock. Perhaps we’ll go check another spot That planet out there, Mars, I believe, Next we’ll go there to see what we’ll see. Awfully windy, this planet is, With mountains around, no place for a kid. Very red too, not Earthy green, But that place too, I find it keen. So back to Earth, home sweet home. Home is where my sole can roam. Maybe a cowboy is best, of course! I’d get a neat hat, and ride a horse! Giddy up!! I’d yell to him, And crack my whip and pat the skin. I’d wear my chaps, proud and true, Just no telling what I’d do. I’d ride through the valleys, up and down. I’d be a hero and save small towns. I’d get all the bad guys and round them up, But that is really kind of tough stuff. Maybe, mommy for now I should be, A little boy, like this, you see? “I think so too, my little love For the only thing I want’s a son And I do believe you’re just the one!!!”
