Santa No Beer This Year!
Santa did you see the left over cake I left you last year, Papa says you like to drink beer I awoke while ago it was spilled on the floor I heard some noises in the night I was afraid to look for fright. Thought it was you Santa, but no presents under the tree I didn't see no even one for me I looked and looked, but all in vain I still feel Santa the sadest pain. Where did papa go I'll never know, but he was gone that mornng by dawn I held his sweater he left on the chair near the lawn I remember the pain in mama's eyes I still sometimes hear her sadest cries. So Santa it is just mama and me this year, we get to go to sunday school and Jesus loves me I seen tonight all the lights upon our new Christmas tree I feel for sure you'll leave a present this year for me I left you a cookie, but no beer for you Santa.....sorry. Linda Terrell December 20, 2009 Kids believe what they are told. Events linger in thier minds for ever. This poems show's just how impressionable words in a childs mind can last for so long. This little boy sincerely believes Santa really likes beer because his father said so. We should always be cautious what goes into little minds for they linger for years upon those words.
