Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required The Dance Hobbes *Quick note* Not exactly a sonnet but pretty close so its what I'm gonna call it I saw him looking from across the room, He stared at me through a fixed sideway glance. One smiling face amidst a sea of gloom, Who didn't think he even had a chance. He walked across the floor with grace and Poise, And stood infront of me in a strong stance. He reached me and I said I don't like boys, And still he asked me for just one small dance. A million different things ran through my head, And I reallly did not know what to say. And in my indecision I had said, Something I never thought that I would say. I said ok. He took my hand in his and led the way, And as we danced he let me take the lead. My mind told me that I was led astray, And what I was doing was a wrong deed. My body continued to work alone, My brain was no longer controling me. And for the sins I would never atone, 'Cause for the first time I felt truly free. He moved in close and whispered in my ear, Do you think you could give me just one kiss? My brain froze up and shouted out in fear, But after all that my lips formed was this. I said ok. He moved in close before we locked our lips, And he engaged my mouth in endless bliss. My mind tried franticly to stop the tips, But my body fully embrassed the kiss. I learned about myself a striking truth, And I'm so glad that I tuned out my mind. Sometimes we must learn lessond in our youth, And listen to the answers that we find. And all my life I'm glad I gave a chance, To the young man who asked me for a dance.
