Lace and Rawhide Cowboy Song
As he rode into town he saw her standing there With a sweet smile on her face and a lonely heart to share His looks were kind but his skin was rough From the sun and the weather And he was used to the smell use leather She was sweet perfume and the softer side She was lace and he is rawhide He got there about sundown, stirring up the dust As their eyes met, was it love or sudden lust She was used to champaign and caviar He liked a nickel beer and smoked a cheap cigar And the looks the lady gave him made it worth the ride She was lace and he is rawhide And later in her room was the smell of sweet perfume Was it wonder lust that they both consumed Her bed was satin sheets, his was a bed roll and tarp And that night they made love to a angel's harp She took her cowboy to the other side She is lace and he is rawhide Now she is a woman with a woman's needs and desires And he is a gentleman enflamed with her wild fire Where would it take him, what would his fate be Her love in the morning light he could see When he left in the morning on his lonesome ride She is lace and he is rawhide
