In the silence of the evening, when shadows dance on the walls of my soul
In the silence of the evening, when shadows dance on the walls of my soul, I wonder if you can be the place where I rest my entire being, not just my weary body, but also the remnants of my lost heart, a refuge where my eyes, which have seen too much, can sleep in peace. Perhaps, when they open to you, they will rediscover the light of life, and remember what it's like to view the world through the lenses of hope, I know I ask a lot, that I am selfish in my desire to find solace, but for too long I have wandered, searching without knowing what I seek. And now, in the silence between questions, I believe maybe you are the answer, you could be that place where the relentless search can finally end, I am tired, my body is heavy, my soul an ocean of unrest, can I lay down part of the burden here, if only for a moment of respite? Can you be the place where I rest, where I leave my confused and troubled soul, where I feel what it's like to breathe without sinking into my depths, perhaps I ask too much, but I feel that here I might find calm, that place where I can lay my soul and find the peace I long for.
