Behind the Wheel
i’ve driven roads i didn’t know, chased the sun and fled the snow. made wrong turns and ran from truth, burned the map back in my youth. but something changed the day we met— you made the ride feel heaven-sent. you sat beside me, calm and still, said, “you don’t have to chase the thrill.” behind the wheel, i’m finding me, in winding roads and memories. your hand in mine, i start to feel there’s more to life than just the speed. and with your love so strong, so real, i’m not alone behind the wheel. streetlights flicker through the glass, reminding me of what won’t last. but every mile with you, i see a path unfolding endlessly. no looking back, the past can fade— you are the road i want to take. you never asked for cruise control, just faith to follow heart and soul. behind the wheel, i’m chasing grace, not running from, but to a place where love can rest and dreams can stay— not just survive, but find a way. you are the calm my hands can feel when i hold on behind the wheel. and if we hit the rain tonight, we’ll drive on slow and keep headlights. ’cause every storm still has its end, and i’ve got you, my journey’s friend. behind the wheel, i’m heading home, with you, i know i’m not alone. the road may bend, the night may fall, but you’re my guide, through it all. i’ve found my truth, my soul can heal— with love beside me behind the wheel.
