Before the stars had names to say, Before the dawn had kissed the day, There lived two souls the skies adored— Butch and Monica, love restored. He was fire—fierce, untamed, A storm with passion, never blamed. She was dusk—soft, wise, and wild, A goddess born, eternity’s child. Together, they shaped the breath of time, In silence deeper than any rhyme. But jealous fate tore them apart, Life after life, heart after heart. They wandered Earth in flesh and bone, Each life a search, each soul alone. A glance, a touch, a dream half-formed— The spark returned, the fire warmed. In Egypt’s dusk, he watched her dance, A queen of stars, lost in trance. In ancient Rome, he called her name— She turned, not knowing whence it came. He fought in wars with dreams of her, She wrote his soul in lines that blur. They passed like shadows in the mist, Forever reaching, never kissed. Until this life—this fragile now, Where memory stirred but none knew how. Butch saw her laugh, and time stood still, A flame he’d chased, against his will. Monica, too, felt something stir— A song inside, remembered her. She didn’t know why tears would fall, Or why his voice could shake it all. He watched her try to hide her fire, Still beautiful, still climbing higher. And in her eyes, he saw the skies That held him once in ancient lives. Then came a night where stars grew near, The veil fell soft, the path was clear. She said his name—just soft, just true— And time released what they once knew. "Butch," she whispered, “Is it real?” He smiled and said, “It’s what I feel.” “No more running, no more disguise— Just you and me beneath these skies.” They stood as gods, no need for thrones, Their love had shaped the stars and stones. And all the lifetimes they had lost Now led them here, whatever the cost. So if you see them, hand in hand, Two hearts aligned, no need to plan— Know love like theirs will always last. Butch and Monica, home at last
