Until
Uncertainty placates the tears Seeking to escape From my partitioned freedom Sharpened ivories cannot supplant the distorted visions Against my flat tomorrows Everybody keeps staring, yet no one notices me. Everybody keeps speaking, yet their sentences remain incomplete. Everybody seeks to shine, while stealing each other’s light. My laughter is powered, yet my worth is powerless. Orders continue to be shouted without context. And I don’t know which way to turn, And I don’t know which day to burn, From the moment my sonlight’s mum wished me dead Without saying a word, only embracing vibes Caressing my skin with apologies of red-handed guilt Webbed from the sin of becoming born-again with the God Who doesn’t seek down payments for blessings Who doesn’t demand I treat pronouns like a tainted predicate Who doesn’t demand I shut down because I’m a dejected speck of Masculinity Who doesn’t demand I kneel before Him, but To stand by Their side How can I be authentic when everyone else is a fraud? Helplessness ceases to exist in this temporary domain of stanzas, Where I reign Valid, seeking to belong… …until tomorrow. ©Tacito
