the light or the dark is the question
based on the song Bible Black by Heaven and Hell for Ronnie James Dio Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Robert James Liguori --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this dark. misty land a stranger took me by the hand- and into a gloomy library I was led. A dusty book was soon found, I was fed- heed...don't ever bargain, never be sold for these words are to be read, I was told. The words didn`t escaped me I was in frozen dread- as the whirlwind spun around inside my head. I saw the light then saw my world darken- I was left alone, orphaned and forsaken. Standing on abysses edge with a downwards stare- leaving me totally naked, stone cold and bare. The questions entered my falling tears- and confronted all my nightmare fears. The inky words imprinted on my confused soul- for my future was yet to be written upon the scroll. From the contradictions I wanted to be set free- but the ultimate questions kept tempting me. a haunting melody whispered the numbers 25, 41- so do I shine in the sun or do I weaken and succumb. Am I blind...can I see? Am I a slave ...am I free? What is black...what is white? Do I stand left....do I stand right? The many questions I ask to me-. the answer in my...heartbeats plea
