Never Shall I Forget Nor Forsake Good Memories
Sadly my grandmother is not on earth and many that shaped this my feelings rose to a fever pitch thinking about their love for us my summertime vacation time to the country every year traveling from the city to the family estate house to house aunts and uncles differemt places where my grandmother and grandfather onced lived lived and died in that place surounded by trees forest fruts sweet planted seeds mulberry pears peaches chickens and I had to slope the pigs they loved cornmill but to get water from the well had to pump the lever up and down up and down a one hundred city girl like me had to pump harder to get a drink of water the water was sweet clear so good we llked the night quiet country Rhythms wild cries of peace somewhere lights from the houses stars rumble and skies whispers from above the star night first star saw that night seem to paint the skywalk blue with a sweet tasting aroma of life windy breezey easy breath calm breath breath breezes across the face every summer space were happy glad to take a swim in Lake Ponchartrain close to the seashore picnics and fun galore and when we got to grandmothers house her living space we could barely wait for the treats ahead the milking the cow was hard for me so I mainly learned by watching the movement of the hand and thumb! Was I in deep thought walking and thinking of my grandmother? remembering many things that she gave of herself I learned how to water a garden a big one I did watch her store away peaches and figs and other things We had a pear tree on the side of the house grandmother was to be at the front of the house in her rocking chair rocking back and forth back and forth for hours and that creaking sound when I was little this was a mystery to me the whole hour wow we back and forth! But yes the food was on the table many flavors were there too many to name On the table was apple butter apple tarts and biscuits cut into shapes peanut butter grape jelly coffee cakes and coffee and milk and raisin bread and eggs most times almost every day and lots of milk and cheese My favorite was strawberry jam Biscuit dipped in syrup or sometimes it was coffee real butter pancakes stack high on the plate Open the window and feel the air carry the scent to the house sometimes you could smell the aromas a mile down the lane the road ahead in the breeze in the trees in the houses afar in your hair in the air everywhere in your clothes in your nose sadly missed by her that taught me new things in the country oh excuse me welcome maybe I will bake a pie huh! oh me o my! lol McDonalds may I take your order, please!are you making a order or not?
