In shackles of nuptial bonds since two years, He couldn`t make head or tail of the setting, Their affection was not made of all cheers But was mix of honeyed comb for grasping During the sweet shining spell of summer And a screen to shield wild winds of winter. He was not the folk to wail, whine or weep Nor a soul with a heart cast in rough stone But a honed mind marshalled to probe deep, “What have you dined to be so overblown? What sin have I committed?”, he queried, Over her sheer rashness he was worried. “You no more have time for me”, she replied, “Day and night you`re wedded with office chore,” With tears rolling down her red cheeks, she cried, “I`ve to stare at the walls and household bore I`ve borne the brunt of loneliness alone So far without a grunt, without a moan.” Keeping a cool head and reining his wrath, He rejoined on the sad plight of his spouse: “That`s not a ground to trail separate paths And pangs of separation to espouse I `ll entrust to your shrine my weekends And try pangs of your misery to end.” “Weekday loneliness will still curse my soul, To weed out this bane, I wish my talent And my voice, she said, to shine to the world;” “If this will wipe away your harsh torment, If you can withstand jeers and public stares Then your footpath,” he assured, “I shall share”. “To reveal your voice, I shall be a friend Stay close to you by the sunset fireside Endear to you shines of love best I can Spread sweet-smelling blooms by the bedside;” Standing close to each other, face to face Wish for divorce faded to a soft embrace. “Let`s align the wheels of our destiny Steer together in the same direction And spin our love in a mint elegy,” They uttered with one voice in elation, “Let`s bury the ghastly ghost of divorce With all our fearless unfaltering force.”
