While There's Time
Without perseverance, there can be no success. Attainment mocks from a distance those who digress. Good ideas are just vapor if not acted upon. I'll take mine to fruition before chances are gone. Since my hourglass sands are quite shallow above, I'll miss no opportunities to help those I love and those in deep need, for there's no better way to spend money and time to help them see a better day. The positions I accepted at church long ago I'm still holding today, and the list may soon grow. I take pride in each duty; I always do my best. I'm honored to serve, and I feel truly blessed. The strong thread of poetry runs through my long years. More precious it grows as the end of life nears. Membership in my state's poetry society keeps me happily busy. Staying active is key. I'll keep reading your poems, and you please read mine, for the hand stilled by Death can't write one single line!
