Thank you for the opportunity Michael, it was indeed an honor. This is a shortened version to fit the video. “The Lonesome Whippoorwill” is a heart-stirring ballad of love, loss, and longing under the stars. It tells the tale of a devoted bird calling endlessly for his missing mate — a song of eternal hope and heartache echoing through the quiet night. Let the gentle rhythm and poetic music video take you into a world where even the smallest creatures feel deeply. About the Whippoorwills Whippoorwills are heard but hardly seen because of their camouflage renders them almost invisible in eastern US and Canadian forests. It's a bird endemic to Northern America and Canada, where the numbers are dwindling. For generations, according to Native American folklore, the Eastern Whip-poor-will has been important symbol. But hearing a Whippoorwill can mean several things. Sometimes, Whippoorwills are birds of good fortune. They can grant wishes, heal pain, and guarantee wealth. Whip-poor-wills return to their breeding range in the northeast USA in April and May. Their arrival, in the form of the first Whip-poor-will’s song, was understood as a season sign. The bird’s song meant an end to the threat of frost and the arrival of spring. The Lonesome Whippoorwill – A Country and Western Ballad – A Music Video Lyrics In the darkness of the night, and the beautiful stars above. There's a lonely Whippoorwill. Calling out for his dear love. Adoring songs he sends to his love Not losing hope to the stars above Memories of her by his side. Pained his heart way deep inside. Each night he wonders why? His calls go unanswered with no reply Minutes turn into hours, as he waits How much more can this heart take? ‘Oh where my love are you tonight I’m calling - calling till morning light.’ His little heart can't take much more For it is she who he adores. Evenings are long as he still waits Time will tell his coming fate. Exhausted he calls out one last time His last thoughts were of her on his mind. There’s a little nest he shared with his bride And there with his broken heart he died Legend says she came back Saw him and her heart was torn And every night you can hear her cries - Till early morn
