Five Short Minutes
Tonight I feel I have seen you for the very first time. I heard your laughter, felt your sad tears brush my face. Held you for a while and found reason in life's crazy rhyme. I was somewhere far away, floating in the most heavenly place. When you grinned, I knew the spark I lit created that smile. As you sang, your voice wrapped love's melody around my soul. I am so amazed at the grace you possess, such genuine, soft style. Standing here, trying to catch my breath, your touch makes me whole. I'm only supposed to feel this way in dreams, oh Love, this is real! You are here with me now; this fire inside is an eternal flame! In the distance I behold our light; this is how true love should feel. This enchantment is our destiny; neither heart shall ever be the same. You are the love of my life; our happiness together is drawing near. Yours is the soul I was meant to give my heart to; a little each day, I do. Like two shooting stars destined to meet, we shall collide without fear. If I had but five short minutes to live, let me take my last breath with you.
