1984 - The End of Big Brother
To whoever may be listening: At exactly 6:33am today government radar detected twenty-seven incoming nuclear warheads from Eurasia and Eastasia. As a result, Oceana has deployed all existing nuclear weapons to both continents in retaliation. This fake war has suddenly become all too real. My friends and colleagues, the end of all things is upon us. There are rumors suggesting our inner party members quickly assembled inside the Ministry of Truth and committed mass suicide. We have no leaders to guide us, no savior to rescue us. It is now 7:02 and for the first time in my life I feel something other than fear - resignation. INGSOC is dead, and in a few short moments we will join Big Brother as well as millions of innocent proletariats in the bleak realm of everlasting oblivion. May whatever god that exists have mercy on our souls. We are the dead. Perhaps we never existed at all.
