I see in your almond eyes that bittersweet love
I see in your almond eyes that bittersweet love, Flowing slowly as you gaze at my pale and silent face, Your heart may now carry pure intentions, without shadows, But I cannot erase the stings, insults, betrayals, screams, Though I want to love you, my heart has had its share of pain, Now every fiber of my being is tired of all that was, I am not in a state to offer yet another lost chance, So I choose not to fall in love with you, but with peace, In this world of illusions, I choose to choose myself, I refuse to be caught in the snares of an uncertain love, For my soul has been a battlefield for too long, And now I seek the calm of a sunrise undisturbed by dreams, Where my heart can dance without fear, without burdens, In a place where the choices are mine, and mine alone, Where I find the strength to choose myself.
