Revelation Song - If I leave here
If I leave here, will you remember? If I were to go, will I still be a name? Where do you go when the pain Is too much and time puzzles the mind? When did the fall become the deal breaker That stole the man when the snake bit And the heel bruised so easy as the fruit fell, And the bounce returned the pain, As the tumble caused the sprain that broke a love, Now everything that lives is dying While the falling body hits the dirt and bounces Once for mankind, twice for the sinner’s prayer, Living in the shelter of the rain that falls to refresh; If I leave here, will you ever know that I’ve been? If I were to go, will you say I was never seen? Where can you go when there is pain And too much time ensnares the mind? And after the fall, the deal was we rule, Taking the resources and keeping them close, Destroying the good, and embracing the bad Watching the bounce when the reaction came, Did the strain ever make it a pain for living? When all is dying because of greed, Bodies tumble under your feet as you try to sleep, Once for mankind, twice for the sinner’s prayer, Breaking out of the shelter, run in the rain, fail to refresh; And a child will lead them, The lion and the lamb shall lie down, And the shepherd will tend his flock When every eye shall see the revelation, Breaking out of heavens lock Bursting onto earths heavy gates, Waking the redeemed and setting free the chained; After the fall comes the rising, live again, Created resource’s delivered by a holy hand, Breaking the bonds that bound the souls of man, Catching the bounce, as life is restored once more, Just as the tomb broke open, and Christ amazed, Will we the dying cease because of good? And Adam stands before his Creator, Forgiven, redeemed, restored as in the beginning, A child led the lion and the lamb, A cross shadowed the land, Yes, man is free to see life again, When we leave here, we will remember; When we leave, memories will not falter, When we go, we take our new name, Where we find there is no more pain, And time is plentiful, no more puzzling on our mind, And a child leads the lion and the lamb, But a King looks upon his people Smiles and turns to the throne, Rising with joy at the sound of the chorus, Hallelujah! To the King of kings. ©Steve Gregory 2021/2025
