Yet it all goes so quickly, leaving nowhere to turn, as exhaustion sets in, I just let myself burn. I stare at the canvas, trying to think, unable to distinguish between safety and brink. There is no solace in standing alone, nor in sharing this sadness or in being known. I'm too empty to share the utter confusion of all trains of thought that defy any conclusion. I thought I would rush to fall sound asleep, but the aches I feel seem fully soul-deep. There's no shaking it off or stepping out strong; I'm trapped in an explosion and it's so very wrong.
