The language of pain
As the morning dawns, the sounds of life emerge As the world awakens and begins the day The quiet darkness of night recedes and the Noise of daily life begins its clatter But are you really listening? The loudest noise that I hear every day is the Sound of pain and suffering but not everyone Can hear it, because you have to be listening And you don't hear it with your ears Are you listening? The sound of pain is similar to the sound of silence And because it isn't loud and obvious, Many people miss it, or even ignore it They pass right by the person who is in tears, Are you listening? The sound of suffering is heard with the heart and eyes, Not with the ears, so you will need to listen for it, However, if you do listen, you will find it Because we are all fluent in the language of pain Are you listening? Do you see the co-worker who mumbled "Hello" Without meeting your eyes or changing their expression Do you see the homeless man on the side of the road During your morning commute? Are you looking? Do you see the masses that are suffering Both locally and worldwide when you turn On the news each and every day? Or do you quickly change to a more pleasing story? Are you looking? I challenge you to truly listen with all of your Heart and every sense that you possess And acknowledge the mass amount of pain and Suffering in our world. And DO something! What are you doing?
