My Bloody Valentine
(a swap quatrain poem) My greatest love – a man divine will always be my valentine. I tragic tale I tell you of a man divine –my greatest love. I’d had to leave another man. No one I knew was crueller than that beast! I thought I’d found reprieve. Another man I’d had to leave. I knew not that he’d reappeared. An ugly head his vengeance reared. Nearby my house my ex then sat. He’d reappeared. I knew not that. He had no clue of my new guy as he sat stewing so nearby. To murder me he’d planned to do. Of my new guy he had no clue. I’d called that night my beau to see not knowing what awaited me. There would ensue an awful fight. My beau to see I’d called that night. My boyfriend came to my front door. We kissed, but we could do no more. Oh, my sweet guy. He had no blame! To my front door my boyfriend came. From where he hid my ex flew out - gun in hand and an awful shout. I can’t get over what he did. My ex flew out from where he hid. My boyfriend tried to take the gun. Too brave was he to ever run. By saving me, my darling died. To take the gun, my boyfriend tried. My ex died too, thanks to my beau. But oh, I just cannot let go of dreams I shared with one so true. Thanks to my beau, my ex died too. From his dear face – how red the flow. My bloody valentine! I know one day in heaven we’ll embrace. How red the flow from his dear face.
