I've danced with the devil, tasted the fire, Each step a reminder of hopes that expire. With laughter like poison, I chase the thrill, Yet found emptiness mocking, a void I can't fill. I've chased silver linings that vanished like smoke, Each promise a whisper, a cruel, bitter joke. I’ve touched the edge of joy, just to recoil, The laughter turns hollow; my heart is the spoil. I've seen that light at the end of the tunnel, Glorious, blinding, a promise to funnel, But with each hopeful stride, it dims and it fades, A fleeting illusion, in shadow it wades. God won’t let me die, though I’ve begged for release, In this prison of grief, I search for my peace. Each breath is a burden, each heartbeat a chain, In the echoes of choices, I linger in pain. Oh, to break free from these shackles of sorrow, To wake up tomorrow, with hope, not to borrow. But the weight of the darkness clings tight to my core, And I find myself dancing once more with the war. So here I remain, in this cycle of fate, A tempest of sadness, a heart full of hate. With tears as my ink and despair as my rhyme, I pen this torment, lost in echoes of time.
