Boiling
My car is in the driveway, sometimes. It disappears every morning at 9:00. She took it. Either my sister or an endless void. The water boils and I’m the only one home. Only I could have done it. Or the void. I really hope I don’t cause a fire. There are instructions on the back of the box. 1,2,3, I could eat some spaghetti! But I think this is mac and cheese. I wanted something to eat. That’s all anyone asked me to do. So I will be brave. Remember. Step 1: The pot is talking to me, so listen. Step 2: Go take a shower and take so long that you forget, and regret, and feel restless, and growl, and there’s someone out there. Step 3: Step out and the only person there is Mr.Smoke Alarm. My sister gets home at 5:00 pm. I probably should have finished making lunch, but I was busy showering, and now it is dead-o-clock. Water doesn’t always hurt us. Until it gets hot, then it kills us. So I write that in my journal. Everything could kill us or I could be happy. My sister gets home at 5:00 pm. And asks what I’ve been doing. I almost burnt the kitchen down. With beautiful, bubbling water. She hugged me. And helped me clean up.
