From the Heart of a Wife
We've shared so many pages, each one bright, But the tears have blurred the colors, day and night. Fears of losing, tears of longing, A love that's fading, and still I’m holding on. Once we were close, though miles apart, Now together, but our hearts are falling apart. I gave you my all, with every breath, But now, it feels like I'm just a shadow left. In the silence, my voice feels unheard, The love I gave seems lost in each word. You were my world, my hope, my dream, But now, I wonder if I truly mean. I never asked for love to fade, I know you love me, but still, I'm afraid. Love alone can't keep us strong, It's respect, it's trust, where we belong. You are my world, my partner, my guide, But where's the devotion that's deep inside? For a wife, her husband is her lord, But for you, am I just a passing word? When I lost you, I stayed in your memory, Yet when you lose me, you're quick to move on, so free. Why the difference, this painful divide? Why does a man move on, while a wife stays by your side? I am your love, but do you see me? Am I your world, or just a shadow to be? In your eyes, do I still have a place, Or am I just someone you can easily erase? I long for the love that once was true, For the warmth, the care, the bond we knew. But if respect is lost, and devotion is gone, What is love but an echo of a song?
