Wild is the Night
How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon? - Dr. Seuss A pearl the size of winter stabs the night Enchanting as fire, glowing through the trees All the earth feels gentle, friendly and bright Believers in God’s grace fall to their knees While the stillness comes to life in half-light Blessings fall like prayers from a soft breeze Song of hope, whispering unspoken praise Upon the wind who breaths joy to amaze Moonlight murmurs to the stars in soft songs Pouring out peace and love across the hills This is the slow rhythm for which the heart longs Wonderous echoes of freedom who thrills Stories of old recall all the past wrongs While winter charms hearts with her quiet chills Nothing seems more astounding than the night Swearing to the soul to make it all right Busy dew hangs from the petals and leaves Gossiping with the shadow who agrees Even the wisest among us still grieves Remembering the love that holds hope’s keys A wild night, though honest, often deceives Promising moon and stars beyond the seas Angry black skies consume the heart who doubts While trembling fireflies sweep the mist with shouts
