The Wall Clock
It is the only thing that I have to keep me alive, it is the dream and the fantasy that you are walking by my side, sometimes it feels like you are distance away and rocks are falling from the skies and the clouds are slowly fading with my dreams. I have tried desperately to keep the illusion alive for if I don’t, I have to pay the painful sacrifice, my heart is big and sometimes it races out of control when I imagine that we are walking up and down the sandy shore with our bare feet pressing in the sand and childlike laughter blazing in the sky sealing the promise that we make till the day we die. This illusion has become real, its genuine love that I feel and the passion that is flowing around is walking hand in hand in the town, and my heart is singing a joyful song, it brings the multitude together and settle the dispute among the rival groups, it heal the raw, open wounds and bring courage to broken hearts and touch the fearful spirits lurking in the dark. But when the sun goes down and you are not around; the heavens began to frown and my lips trembles with words I cannot speak, I can only whisper them in my dreams while the night creeps slowly upon the wall, stretching my spirits to the limit. I watched the second and the minute hand moving around and still you did not find your way home, I listen to every tiny minute sounds and the slightest appearance of your shadows could not be found, I stare in my phone for more than hour and all I see is my own reflection on the dark screen and you did not appear in my dream, I search the contours of the dwelling but there was no sign of you but I kept hoping that you could just show your face on the screen and break the static dream but still there was no sign of you. Christmas has come and gone and you left me stranded on the wall the minute hand has broken off and the second-hand kept wobbling along but when midnight came the minute hand and the second pulled out of the game and the universe went insane. I kept staring at the phone but still you did not come. The sound has gone out of the clock on the wall and the faithful followers are crawling on their knees in the dark.
