Michael
When I tell the story of you, I want them to see There was love so alive, love that I can’t describe, Love that is beyond the grasp of my pen Love that aches to be felt again. When I tell the story of you, I want them to know What you brought into my world, Was more than a gentle, a light, a smile, More than the words can express or describe. When I tell the story of you, I want them to agree Whatever came to my soul when you left, Brought me grief that my mind can’t accept. When I tell the story of you, I want them to fall As much in love with your heart, your soul as I have been since I was just a child you taught to believe in the love that abides in my soul. When I tell the story of you, I want them to believe In the magic that makes a child smile, The melody that reveals what it means to just love. The song that pours out from the spirit who believes. When I tell the story of you, I want them to cry Because when they see what I’ve lost I want them to know that it is more than my heart… It is a friend, a feeling, a faith that whatever comes Someone special is here to stay, Someone I treasure, who will never go away, Someone who I love – more than I can say! When I tell the story of you, my dear uncle I want the words to weep Because when I remember what I lost, there’s an echo… Saying that my heart still bleeds, And, though I still breath, my soul agrees… When I tell the story of you, they need to see – There is a silence in my life, That only your love can remove, A silence so awkward and loud, Only in heaven will I find a calm to sooth The grief that came to me – when I lost you.
