Dear Death
**When Death Finds Me** When death finds me, let it not roar, But knock softly at my weary door. Let its voice be a tender sigh, A whisper low, "It's time, don't cry." "Come now, my friend, the war is done, Your battles lost, your battles won. The scars you wear, the tears you've shed, Have paved the path where angels tread." Let it kneel where my body lay, And brush the grief of life away. "Your hands are worn, your heart is bruised, You've given all; there's none left to lose." "Let me take this weight you bear, The silent grief, the clawing despair. Lay it down; it is mine to hold, Your story's told, your tale is gold." "Here, there's no pain, no endless fight, No dreams that fade with the fall of night. Here, there's rest for the soul and bone, You'll never again feel lost, alone." So, when death finds me, let me weep, For all the love I couldn't keep. But in its arms, I'll softly fall, And find the quiet beneath it all.
