lavender
Although not for their color, I have always admired lavender. I planted a bunch of them in my garden. The garden that I grow with my soul. Wishing to get calm and peace after the storm. I gave one to the people each day. Only hoped it would bring peace to myself All of the flowers I gave out, made others smile. I asked myself, if I gave enough flowers, can someone give them back to me and call me “mine”? Would I be shown care about the good I did? Or would all my efforts be neglected? I met the sun as it made the lavender grow. I wish her to melt my cold soul if I get its warmth too. But the sun only burns my skin. Making me feel suffocated. I just run towards the moon to admire its silence. That silence brought a little peace in me as I sat with the lavender I planted. The thoughts started to rush back into my mind. There's something about them That I haven't yet discovered. How the lavender that grows in summer survives the cold. Just like my body is surviving with my cold soul. Is it me or the flower I planted in my garden? Would it be wrong to be asked "You’re okay" once in a while? But later in the night when I sit in my garden I realized that the prettiest flowers Are the ones that grow alone. I planted the lavender in my soul. Hoping it would withstand its cold.
