Each step I took, now lost to time’s cruel hand, No trace remains of paths that once did stand. Around me, silence reigns, a shroud so thick, I search for guidance, yet find naught but the wick Of hope extinguished, flickering dim and faint; No guiding star, no whisper from a saint. I sit in stillness, my heart a hollow drum, Gazing into the void, where echoes come undone. Not for the dawn do I yearn, nor the light’s gentle grace, But for the angel of death to hasten my embrace.
