NO
NO Where do you start with suicide I`ve been struggling with what to say, But no one in society is immune from this The numbers rise each day. You can sit back and think it will never be me It won’t be my mum or my dad, It won`t be my children either Things will never get that bad. But we all harbour secret thoughts No one sees inside your head, Constant doubts and feelings And your mind is never read. Sometimes we think it`s never that bad And we can ignore a cry for help, Were just too busy in our own lives We don’t hear it till it`s a yelp. Feelings suppressed and loneliness Your head swimming full of bad thoughts, Is it money, work, or debts? Building up That leaves you isolated and overwrought. Your self esteem takes a hit Defeat, humiliation or shame, Love, entrapment or betrayal Prison, bereavement or blame. All roads can lead to depression Their words and their smiles are a mask, An everyday thing for you and I For them is an arduous task. Horrible feelings that won’t go away Self isolation and moments of doubt, You`re feel all alone and you hate it You lash out angry and shout. From post natal to PTSD Mental of physical abuse, Long term pain or illness The demons inside are cut loose. Three o’clock in the morning again You’re twisting and turning in bed. You cannot shake the thoughts going around in your head. You’ve got to feed the depression To find that moment of pain, You’re using it like a drug now You chase it again and again. The only things you feel now Are anger, sorrow and pain, They take over every emotion You find impossible to contain. From horrific lows to euphoric highs You think you have it beat, Then the demon inside rears its ugly head Then knocks you of your feet. Depression has no boundaries No matter your status or wealth. It will tear you apart from your loved ones Till you can’t bear to live with yourself. Then self pity will overcome everything Your life, your love all gone, Or make the choice to cry out loud With your battle lines redrawn. Tell somebody, it can be anybody Tell them off your fears, If you cannot get the words out Just let them see your tears. No one really wants to die They just want the pain to go, Maybe we can play our part With a simple word hello. Lending an ear can save a life Whether its family or friend, Each day is the road to recovery Instead of being the end. There is no quick fix for depression When you’ve you’ve sunk as low as can go. You can change your life for the better You can’t rush it, take it slow No parent should lose their children And kids need a mum and dad, Don’t let a few short years Be the best and worst they’ve had. Love will conquer in the end Love will pull you through, And never ever forget The love people have for you. Swallow your pride ask for help It`s ok not to be ok, Find your space where you can breathe again And hold on for one more day. THE BEGINING.
