Reflection
I push myself not to look back, To stay in the moment, to stay right where I'm at, This move has been hard, and so lonely sometimes, Reflecting on my life, too much in my mind, Pulling apart moments I never thought I'd see again, Yet seeing them now through a different lens, Is it change for the better, or remorse to see, What I allowed how I treated me, I forgot myself caring for everyone else, I pushed my heart on the back burner, and placed it on a shelf, I thought all these years I was doing it right, Putting others before yourself, I took my grandmother's advice, To avoid being selfish, I walked away so many times, Believe in God would fight for me, because the fight was not mine, But was I really confronting my heart and soul, Was I really letting it go...
