To you my wife
To you my wife My wife, and mother of my sons,we both know love is not what brought us together, but you have endured me,suffered my words and neglect ,yet you never turned my sons against me . I’m sure there are time when you have hated me ,but you never poisoned their minds or stopped them from loving me ,and for all that with all my heart ,I’m greatful to you. A bond beyond love's flame, Endured through trials, and life's sharp pain. You stood by me, through every test, A rock of strength, and a loving breast. Your patience wore, a weary face, As I inflicted wounds, with thoughtless pace. Yet still you chose, to hold back the tide, And never let, our sons be divided. In moments dark, when hate might creep, You guarded their hearts, and kept them asleep. No poison spread, no seeds of disdain, Only love and kindness, like summer rain. For all the times, I failed to be, The husband, father, I should have been to thee. For all the tears, the sleepless nights, You kept our sons safe, and held on to the light.
